9+ Months without Instagram — Here’s How (Profoundly) My Life Has Changed
Boosted productivity, higher motivation, and way better mental health
When I decided to quit social media, I “deactivated” my accounts — in case I wanted to get back.
I was especially reluctant to part with my fitness “micro-influencer” account with around 5k followers and tons of daily DMs.
Even most of my friends had parroted, “I bet you’ll hop back in a month or two”.
Since we’ve normalized social media so much, we view ditching it permanently as impossibly strange.
But 9 months and counting — forget getting back, even the thought of it seems distasteful.
My life has changed beyond my wildest reckoning and only a fool would want to throw it all away.
The Exhilarating Relief of Anonymity
Be it bumping into someone after months or calling a friend after a week, I have tons of life stories updates to share — this puts back the joy in “catching” up.
Back when I used to broadcast my life on Instagram, I’d feel this constant urge to “capture” every moment.
